Text messaging

How our texting works.

Consent, frequency, cost, and how to stop. Written to be read, not to be survived.

Lark Media LLC builds and operates text-message assistants for the businesses and organizations we work with. This page explains, in plain language, how those messages work: who sends them, how a person starts receiving them, and how they stop.

Who is texting you

If you received a text about a business we work with, the message came from that business's own number, operated on their behalf by Lark Media LLC. The business's name appears in the message. We never send messages under a name that is not the business's own.

How you start receiving messages

You receive text messages from one of our clients only after you have asked to. That happens in one of these ways, and only these ways:

We do not buy phone numbers, and we do not text bought lists. Consent to receive messages is never bought, sold, rented, or shared with a third party for their own marketing. That is not a preference we hold; it is a rule we operate under.

Ask us to text you

If you would rather we answered you by text than by email, give us your number here. This form is entirely optional. Nothing else on this site depends on it, no service is withheld if you skip it, and asking us to text you is the only thing it does. Consent to receive texts is never a condition of working with us or of buying anything.

Message frequency varies, and most conversations are a handful of messages while you get something done. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to stop and HELP for help. See our terms and privacy policy.

Enter a mobile number and check the consent box first.

Sending this opens your own email app, addressed to Raul, carrying the number you typed and the consent you checked. That way the record of it exists on your side as well as ours. Nothing is stored anywhere until you send it.

What the messages are about

Answers to what you asked, appointment and booking confirmations, reminders, follow-ups about a request you made, and occasional updates from the business you asked to hear from.

How often

Message frequency varies. Most conversations are a handful of messages while you are getting something done. Recurring updates, where a business sends them, are typically no more than a few per month.

Cost

Message and data rates may apply. Your mobile carrier, not the business and not Lark Media, sets those rates.

How to stop

Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving messages from that business. You will get one confirmation, and then nothing further.

Reply HELP for help, or reach a person at raul@larkmedia.io.

Stopping works at any time and for any reason, and you never have to explain it. Carriers support STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, END, CANCEL and QUIT; any of them work.

When a person takes over

Some replies are drafted by software and sent automatically inside a conversation you started. Others are written by a person. At any point you can ask to speak to a human and the conversation is handed to one, along with everything you have already said, so you are never asked to repeat yourself. If you ask whether you are talking to a person or a machine, you get a straight answer.

Your information

What we do with your phone number and the contents of your messages is covered in the privacy policy. The short version: it belongs to the business you contacted, it is used to serve you, and it is not sold.
